After four years of research and development consulting with Ph.d’s of physical therapy, we came up with the perfect design for support and comfort.

Not just a Neck Pillow, not just Lumbar Support -Thither.com

Research from the U.S. National Library of Medicine shows that back pain affects 8 out of 10 people at some point during their lives.* Riding in a car for longer than 1 hour can exacerbate symptoms – not a good sign for weary travelers.

While there are many support pillows on the market, few offer the versatility of the Add-A-Rest Car Comfort & Travel Pillow. Add-A-Rest inventor, Kevin McQuillan, created his pillow from necessity. Being a carpenter for many years, he suffered from upper back stress & tension.

According to Kevin, upper back tension melts away with repeated use of his device, and makes for a much more comfortable commute. The Add-A-Rest headrest pillow is a firm cylindrical, bolster like cushion on the bottom, with a more soft pillow portion on top. The contoured design was four years in research and development. The proper support is designated by the user in which position they prefer to use, neck, back or leg.

Value in Multiple Placement

Unlike traditional ‘u’ shaped travel pillows, the Add-A-Rest can be used several ways according to your needs. Here are 4:

  1. Headrest position – attach the pillow to the hood. The pillow can be adjusted according to the user’s height by shifting the pillow up or down the velcro strip. One of our reviewers who is 5’9″ tested the Add-A-Rest pillow and it fit perfectly.

  2. Lumbar support position – place the pillow at the bottom of seat where your lower back is. This position gives extra lower back support.

  3. 180º flip position – essentially the headrest position flipped upside down, then lowered by a few inches. This gives extra support to the upper back, a better view of the road, and still supports the cervical spine.

  4. Under Knee - this position assures you of better circulation on long journeys. Switch back and forth from knee to knee to avoid restless leg. Get relief for your sciatic nerve by elevating the knee. In addition to being able to be used on road trips, the pillow easily removes and can be tucked in the hood for attachment to your carry on for your next flight. Due to the limited space to recline your seat back, and the forward angle of the upper padded portion of most airline seats, we recommend the 180 flip position for maximum comfort. This means added support when sitting in an upright position and taking a nap. Again storing the pillow into it’s own hood as depicted in the image above after reaching your destination. Since the Add-A-Rest pillow is lightweight, you can easily pack it away once you’ve arrived, or bring it with you as venture around your vacation destination.

“I just ordered two for our friends who have a long road trip next month.”

Bart & Lisa T. Chandler, AZ

“I’ve been using it in my bed at night. It has helped with my restless leg syndrome that has kept me up in the past. Thanks for a marvelous invention!”

Marilyn

“We’ve had it in the car for a while now. We’re happy to be able to transfer it to our new car but will have to order two more for my wife’s vehicle!

– Ron & Julie P., Bend, Oregon

“None of the other travel pillows I’ve tried have the comfort level of the Add-A-Rest. I strongly recommend it out.”

Brian H.

“We just got back in from our road trip and had to write in. We met Kevin at the fair in Mesa, Arizona. What a delightful young man. He introduced us to his invention, demonstrated how we might be able to use it, but when we sat in the chair for ourselves it became apparent that we needed this for our adventures across the country. Thank you for treating us to a new travel experience! I will be telling everyone about your new car pillow.”

– Scott & Rikki, Salt Lake City, UT

“What a cool travel pillow! It does help on those long trips with the kids. They can use them as lap desks for their devices and take a nap whenever they want. Thank you.”

Kyle S.

“I bought two for myself and put one in my service truck. Now, all my employees want to steal my truck after they checked the pillow out. The Add-A-Rest is a super addition to my fleet and goes a long way in keeping my guys happy. Thank you Add-A- Rest for letting me know where to pick up those extra pillows as Christmas gifts.”

Dana, Mesa, AZ

“Thanks for pulling me aside at the Market Place. I would have never known how truly comfortable your pillow is. Just as you said, “the ergonomic design and four years of R & D, have really turned out a great creation.” From my standpoint, there is no other device people will need in their travels. This pillow is so comfortable; it contours to my back and neck perfectly. I’m taking it with me next week on my flight for a test to Florida. Will keep you posted.”

Dr. Richard R. D.C.

“Unlike my horseshoe pillow, this one is not hot or constricting”
